Bugema University is preparing to hold its 32nd Graduation Weekend from 6th to 8th November 2026. The occasion will bring together graduands, parents, guardians, lecturers, university leaders, alumni, friends and well-wishers to celebrate the completion of another important academic journey.
This year’s graduation weekend will be held under the theme, “Running the Race with Endurance.”
The theme fits well with the experience of many students. University life is not always easy. It comes with lectures, assignments, examinations, research, financial pressures, family responsibilities, and many other challenges. For some students, the journey takes longer than expected. Others have to balance work, family and studies. Reaching graduation therefore means more than simply completing a course. It also shows patience, commitment and determination.
For the graduands, the weekend will be a time to look back at how far they have come. Many will remember their first days at the university, the friendships they made, the lecturers who guided them and the difficult moments they had to overcome.
Parents and guardians will also have reason to celebrate. Behind many graduates are families that have made sacrifices, encouraged them, and supported them throughout their studies. Graduation is therefore not only a personal achievement. It is also a moment of joy for the people who have walked with the graduands along the way.
The theme, “Running the Race with Endurance,” also carries a message beyond university life. Graduation may mark the end of one stage, but it also opens the door to another. Graduates will move into different areas of life. Some will look for employment, some will start businesses, some will continue with further studies, while others will serve in churches, schools, organisations, government institutions and communities.
The journey ahead may not always be smooth. There may be delays, disappointments and unexpected challenges. The same endurance that helped students complete their studies will still be needed after graduation.
As Bugema University prepares for its 32nd Graduation Weekend, the occasion will provide a chance to celebrate achievement, thank those who have supported the graduands and encourage the graduating class to face the future with courage and determination.
For many students, one race is coming to an end. Another is about to begin.
And the message remains simple: keep running, and keep enduring.
